UMP (Unified Media Platform)

I have a UMP device without Bluetooth capabilities. Can I simply plug in any Bluetooth adapter and use it?

Q: I have a UMP device without Bluetooth capabilities. Can I simply plug in any Bluetooth adapter and use it?
A: No, the UMP devices feature a customized Bluetooth stack and are optimized to work with devices utilizing the Toshiba Bluetooth
stack, or HCI devices. If you have such a device, e.g. a non-Broadcom or Widcomm based adapter, it may work with your UMP, but
some functions will require you to edit configuration files manually in order to add the device's MAC address. This is not officially
supported. You can order a compatible Bluetooth device from PelNet or use a Sitecom CN-523.
