UMP (Unified Media Platform)

5.7 Advanced Video Settings

As this device uses very flexible software to provide its functionality, a large amount of customization can be performed in the Web Interface, regarding Video functionality.  Here is an overview of the settings available in the Web Interface under Settings -> Video:

VIDEO_ITEMS = [('Video', '/mnt/data/Video'), ('Downloads', ‘/mnt/data/Downloads'), ('Recordings', '/mnt/data/Recordings'),     ('Network', '/mnt/net') ]

Here you can specify which items/directories should be listed under Video.

VIDEO_MPLAYER_SUFFIX = [ 'avi', 'mpg', 'mpeg', 'wmv', 'bin', 'rm', 'divx', 'ogm', 'vob', 'asf', 'm2v', 'm2p', 'mp4', 'viv', 'nuv', 'mov', 'iso', 'nsv', 'mkv', 'flv', '3gp', 'rmvb', 'asx', 'img', 'iso' ]

Here you can specify which types of files should be displayed/handled.

VIDEO_PREFERED_PLAYER = 'mplayer'

Here you can specify which media player you wish you wish to use for video playback. MPlayer is strongly recommended.

VIDEO_ONLY_SCAN_DATADIR = 1

Here you can specify whether the OSD should only look for FXD files in the current directory. This conflicts with the ‘video.fxdarchive’ plugin, but speeds up directory load times.

VIDEO_AUTOJOIN = 1

Here you can specify whether to join multiple files which appear to represent the same episode/movie based on the filename.

VIDEO_DEINTERLACE = None

Here you can specify whether and which deinterlacing options to use.

5.7 Advanced Video Settings (continued)

Here is the continuation of the advanced video settings listed on the previous page:

VIDEO_PRE_PLAY = None

Here you can specify any additional commands to execute before starting video playback.

VIDEO_POST_PLAY = None

Here you can specify any additional commands to execute after ending video playback.

VIDEO_SHOW_REGEXP = "s?([0-9]|[0-9][0-9])[xe]([0-9]|[0-9][0-9])[^0-9]"

Here you can specify regular expressions to be used when parsing video items filenames and descriptions.

VIDEO_SHOW_DATA_DIR = '/mnt/data/Video'

Here you can specify the default directory for video files.

Please note that these settings can have a negative impact on playback if used incorrectly. Is it recommended to verify that these settings are set to the defaults in case of problems.

After changing any of these settings, you will need to restart the OSD for the settings to take effect.
