UMP (Unified Media Platform)

13.4 Media Library

The UMP devices feature an intuitive and multifunctional file access interface referred to as the Media Library. The Media Library features both a view/playback oriented mode as well as a file management mode, which provides the possibility to rename and delete files.

To access the Media Library of the device, navigate to the Files tab in the Web Interface. Here you will see the four main offline media categories supported by the device; Movies, Recorded TV, Music and Images. Select one of the categories by clicking in it, and you will be able to navigate through the file structure of the device in that particular category.

Note that only media of the selected category will be displayed. For a complete file listing you can use the File Browser or access the device via Samba or FTP over the network and read the following paragraph.

To rename or delete items from the Media Library select the Advanced Media Library link below the overview of the four categories under Files. The same list will be displayed, though a number of links are added beneath the Advanced Media Library link, which has also changed to Main Media Library. By selecting this link again, you can return to the regular Media Library. These other links are discussed in the next paragraph. To delete a file, select the category to which it belongs and navigate to the corresponding directory. The Advanced Media Library does not support file ‘meta’ information, such as the start and stop times or the description of a TV program, but can display the file’s size and provides two options for each file called Rename and Delete on the right hand side.

A small feature comparison between the advanced and regular Media Library is presented below.
